Fonds consists of a small number of subject files and a large number of photographs, both prints and negatives, and sound recordings. The subject matter of the photographs spans a broad range and includes a large number of photographs of the Robb family as well as vistors to the family home and bird sanctuary, Abbey Dawn. There are also a fair number of Kingston scenic views and events.
This fonds consists of a poem, written by Capt. Goold, entitled, 'If You Truly Love Their Memory', in which he reminisces fondly about the age of steam vessels on the Great Lakes.
This collection consists of a number of pictures of the Whig-Standard Building decorated for the Royal visits of of 1939 and 1959, VE day and Coronation Day. There are also pictures of local sites: the Market Battery; Princess Street; Kingston harbour; the Eastern Ontario Air Meet of 1930; and the covered bridge on Highway 2, crossing the Napanee River into Napanee.
The fonds consists of the following three series: correspondence and collateral material, (1902-1939); speeches and speech material (1914-1937); and, personal and philanthropic material. The material reflects the many activities and roles that Joseph Flavelle undertook in his life. Not only reflecting his business activity, this material also documents his involvement and direction in many religious, education and philanthropic institutions and events.
